With Liberty and Justice For All.....

Hello Everyone!!! Well, I got a fabulous little package in the mail the other day! Magnolia had sent me the new Freedom stamps to work with and I couldn't wait to dive in and play! My favorite stamp in the set is 'Liberty Tilda'. She just looks so strong and powerful. Pauline really did a fantastic job illustrating her. Being an American, I can truly appreciate what she stands for. I actually got chills when I saw Pauline's illustration of the Statue of Liberty because she is such a powerful visual reminder of the freedoms that we all have in the United States of America. I don't think there is anyone in this country that does not know someone that has served in the US military and fought to preserve our freedoms. Every time I decide to try something new, like starting a rubber stamp company, I remember that it's because of these freedoms that I CAN!!!

Anyway, the Magnolia-licious DT has a new challenge that this time around was decided upon by the fabulously talented sweetheart Mindy Baxter! She asked us all to create something with a 'water' theme. That doesn't mean that you have to have water in your design though. There just has to be some element of water. It could be the color of water for instance. And that is exactly what I did.

And, of course, you too can join in on the challenge over at the Magnolia-licious Highlites Challenge Blog!!!! There is always a fantastic prize, but most of all it's just fun!!! I hope to see a project from you :-)

Here's my card.......

With Liberty and Justice For All
I had sooooo much fun coloring this image!!!!!!! It's actually a little lighter in person, but that's what happens with photography! At least when I'm behind the camera ;-) Anyway, I colored this sweet little Liberty Tilda with Copic markers. I stamped the Freedom Background all around as my sentiment. There is absolutely no design paper on this card. I was working on it while Claudia was over and when I finished it I asked her what she thought. She really seemed to like it and suggested that I forgo the use of dp's. I was originally going to cut into the card with one of my dies, but I thought her idea was genius and I absolutely love how it turned out! Thank you for your help Claudia!!! She also suggested the simple layout and ribbon. So basically, I did the coloring and she designed the card! But I'm still calling it mine!!!!! :-)

This is just another view for the heck of it :-)

Well, that's it for me today! I hope you'll head on over to Magnolia-licious to get your own Freedom stamps. They are totally gorgeous and will not last long in stores. This is one of the best collections yet!!! If you don't get all 4 I'm sure you'll regret it later ;-) So go get em'!!!!!

Hugs to you all!!!!!

Love is in the air....

Magnolia-licious DT Challenge

Welcome to May everyone! I hope this month proves to be super sunny and warm for you all. We're heading into warmer weather as summer approaches here in Michigan. My gosh I cannot wait til the extreme heat gets here! In preparation for summer, the Magnolia-licious DT has a 'Color Me Summertime' challenge going on and we're using the colors of summer: yellow, orange and blue. I had made my card for something else, but it works perfectly with this challenge so I decided to use it.

You can enter the challenge too! Get all of the details at the Magnolia-licious Highlites Challenge Blog. You can see all of the DT's inspirations there and there is a fantastic prize to win too!

Here's my card....I hope you like it!

Love is in the air....

I couldn't wait to use more of my new Magnolia's from the 'Summer Memories' club kit! This is such a fabulous release! I decided to color up 'Honeybee Tilda' sitting on the 'Meadow Daisy'. Both are on preorder at Magnolia-licious with some fantastic discounts, along with the rest of the release. I colored the images with a combo of Copic markers and watercolor with DI's. I used a new paper that I really like a lot. I had no idea if I'd be able to use the Copic's on it, but it worked rather well.

The card shape and background dp were cut with a Go Kreate die. The tag was cut with a Magnolia DooHickey die called 'Tilda Tag', but I don't see it in the Magnolia-licious store right now. It's one of my favorite DooHickey dies because I love the lacy piece that folds over the tag. Anyway, I'm sure if you inquire about it at Magnolia-licious they'll be able to get it for you. Their customer service is fantastic and it's the only place that I shop for my Maggies!

I don't have the name of manufacturer of the dp's - sorry! I added the squiggles around the images by hand for a whimsical touch. The twine, cheesecloth, sentiment and metal flower are all from my stash. I think that little piece of lace trim is from RRR.

That's it for me today! I hope you found some inspiration in my card :-) It was so much fun getting back to painting. It's been quite a while since I used my DI's as I've really been enjoying my Copics.

Have a wonderful day and try to find some creative time!

Hugs to you all my friends,

Angie

Spring is Here!

Hello Everyone!  Welcome to my blog!  I hope you're having a wonderful day :-)  Right now we've got a challenge going on over at Magnolia-licious Highlites Challenge Blog.  The theme is 'Luscious Lace'.

Here's my card...

Spring is Here!

This little sweetheart is new from the Magnolia club kit. I have no idea what her name is, but she's still the cutest thing. I love her curly hair! She looks Italian to me with those curls so I gave her dark hair. I really like how it turned out too. If you don't get the club kit then you'll be able to get the new stamps soon enough at Magnolia-licious. They always have the latest and greatest Magnolia stamps as well as oldies but goodies. The dp's are from Theresa Collins and the nautical color scheme is just perfect with this image. I'm not a big fan of yellow, but when paired with blue and white it's simply gorgeous. That cute little sentiment that I've stamped on the tag is from the Little Darlings - Warm Fuzzies "Spring Sentiments' set which was designed by our very own multi-talented Mindy Baxter. This set was just released along with a set of Birthday Sentiments.

The lace that I used in the background and on the tag is from my stash. The tag was cut using a Magnolia DooHickey tag die. I don't see it in stock right now, but there many others available at Magnolia-licious that would do the trick. All of the flowers are from WOC. The image and matte were cut using SB dies.

I colored the image using Copic markers.

skin - E000, 00, 01, 11, 13, R20, 30
hair - N0, 1, 3, 5, 7, 9
dress/flowers - Y11, 21, V01
water - B0000, 21, 24

That's it from me today.  Have a terrific day!!!

New Arrival!

Good Day Everyone!!!
Today the Magnolia-licious DT has a new 'Baby' challenge going on over at the Magnolia-licious Highlites Challenge Blog! How much fun! Now, I don't normally create projects for new babies and expectant mothers because I don't often know any. But, thanks to my teamie and friend Ruby (who decided on the theme this time), I have a reason to use one of the cutest stamps in the Princes and Princesses collection. Thanks Ruby for coming up with such an adorable theme!!!

As always, you too can join us in the fun over at the Magnolia-licious Highlites Challenge Blog with your own creation. We'd love to see you show off your talents and go for the win. There is always a fantastic prize to win and lots of fun trying :-)

So, in the interest of time I'll move onto my card. I do hope you like it. It was an absolute pleasure to make...especially since it had been a week since I had seen the inside of my studio! Yikes!

New Arrival!

This little sweetie pie is none other than #115 'Baby Edwin'! He's currently available at Magnolia-licious and is offered up at a 10% discount! How cool is that??? I colored him up with Copic markers in shades of blue and yellow to match the gorgeous papers by Theresa Collins. I purchased the 6x6 paper pad to use it in more of a nautical theme, but I grabbed them up very quickly to use with this project because the colors are so beautiful. I didn't want to use the typical 'baby' papers. I wanted this card to have more of a sophisticated feel about it and I thought I could do that with these papers. You tell me whether or not I've achieved that!
The image and matte were cut using SB dies. The sentiment is by Hero Arts and it and it's matte were cut using SU punches. I really thought the sentiment was going to be too big for the punch but to my surprise it was the perfect size! I love it when ideas come together!!!

The ribbons are both from RRR and the flowers are all from WOC. I pulled the buttons from my button drawer and threaded them with some string by American Crafts. You can see a little glimse of the inside of the card and it's decorated in a similar manner with coordinating papers.

That's it for me today! I'm in the middle of two more projects that are on my desk right now. Hopefully I'll find the time to finish them next week. It's really iffy with my son off school on Spring Break all week.

Take care everyone and have a wonderful day! I would love it if you would leave me a little comment to let me know what you think of my project. It's always so wonderful to hear from you and to see who has stopped in for a visit :-)

Hugs to you!

Angie

Tilda and the Beanstalk...

Hi Everyone!!! I'm finally back with another card. I've been working on this project for about a week and a half...coloring here and there when I can. I was originally going to use these images for a project for yesterday's Magnolia-licious Blog Hop, but I couldn't get it colored in time. I won't go into the boring details of what I've been up to since it's all work related and really boring. So, I will just get right to my project! I hope you like it :-)

Tilda and the Beanstalk
When I received my Magnolia-licious DT Kit, the first thing I wanted to do was ink up this little cutie! I just love her!!!!!!!!!! Look at Tilda on that Beanstalk! Anything cuter? I don't think sooooooo! Her official name is Beanstalk Tilda and she's resting on the Beanstalk after quite a long climb up into the clouds. Both are available at Magnolia-licious right now and are discounted 10%! How's that for a deal? Head on over and get yours while supplies last. With the nursery rhyme theme, they are perfect for a child's birthday or a baby shower. I really love the idea of using them for a baby shower. I would have loved to receive a card with these images on it when I was pregnant with my son.

Both images are colored with Copic markers...and lots of them! Because I was working on the coloring throughout the past 10 or so days, I have no idea which colors I used. All of the flowers are from WOC and were given to me by my sweet friends Mindy and Claudia. Thank you Sweeties!!! A girl can never have enough flowers! The papers are from an old BG 6x6 pad. The gorgeous lace and doily are from my stash. I cut the dragonflies with a Magnolia DooHickey die. I don't see it in stock at Magnolia-licious right now, but they have tons of other dies to choose from right now. They've started stocking Cheery Lynn Dies, Marianne Dies and Memory Box Dies and they've got a really good selection at great prices.
Well, that's it for me today. Thank you so much for stopping by. I hope you'll leave me a little note to let me know that you were here!
Til next time,
Angie

Koala Hugs...

Hi Everyone! I feel like it's been forever since I've been here! Crafting time has been really limited lately and it's going to get even worse...but for a very good reason...and I'm excited about it! Hubby and I started designing a house over a year ago. We've been back and forth with it making changes and then more changes. Well, we finally approved the final floor plan this week. Now the architect will spend the next 30 days working on the construction drawings. What does this mean for me??? Well, {deep breath}...I now need to spend most of the next 30 days running two businesses, getting the 2011 financials ready for the accountant for both businesses, getting everything up to date for the 2012 first quarter, and gathering all of our personal financials so that I can present it all to the bank for the construction loan. So....I may not be here very much in the coming weeks. I'm going to do my best to get the necessary projects completed, but I won't have time for anything in between :-( But it will all be worth it in the end! The plan is to break ground on the new house before June. We're hoping to move in before May 2013. We'll be a lot closer to our son's school so I will no longer have the one hour drive to school in the morning. But, this also means that we need to put our current house up for sale and that's a whole task in and of itself! What do I do with the dog when the house is being shown? I guess I'll have to take her on lots of rides in the car!

On another note, I finally had the opportunity to complete a card with the image that I painted with Koala Hug Tilda. I had the pleasure of meeting Bronlyn at CHA and she gave me this little cutie to work with. I hope she likes what I've done with her!

Koala Hugs

I absolutely love this image of Koala Hug Tilda! If you don't have your own yet, be sure to get her at Magnolia-licious so you can get FREE SHIPPING! I have backed her with Magnolia's Tip Leaves and Sun. I use these Tip Leaves a lot because they're so incredibly versatile. I stamped them a couple of times to give Tilda a really lush background of the leaves. I hand drew the grass myself with DI's and Copics. The images were colored with a combo of both. Oh yeah...I cut the card shapes with a new die set from Go Kreate. My hubby got me a few new sets for my birthday...I just told him that yesterday when they arrived. LOL!!!

I turned to my BG 'Capella' paper pad for dp's this time. The have such a soft romatic feel about them. The big green flower is handmade and the rest are from WOC and Webster's Pages. The gorgeous pink ribbon was given to me by the sweet Suzan L at CHA. I'm gonna have to ask her where she got it cause I just love it!!! The bright yellow sun got a coat of yellow Stickles for some sparkle. The doily is from my stash.

The inside of the card is very simple. I used a coordinating dp from the paper pad. The sentiment is from my stash.

Well that is it for me today! I really enjoyed showing you my project and I truly hope you enjoyed visiting. Feel free to leave me a little comment to let me know that you stopped by!

Hugs to you all :-)
