Hello Little Butterfly!

Hi Everybody!!! I hope you all had a great weekend! I'm finally feeling more like myself again. It sure was a tough couple of weeks. My son was home for a week and a half and I was sick through the whole thing :-( Fortunately, hubby stepped up and helped out a lot. I think he was feeling really sorry for me.

My new stamps from Magnolia's 'Butterfly Dreams' collection have been sitting on my craft desk just taunting me. Hubby took our son to a movie yesterday and I was definitely in the mood to color after having been away from my studio for so long. I inked up 2 of the new stamps and I just love how my card turned out. I hope you like it too!

Hello Little Butterfly

This little cutie is Hello Little Butterfly and I paired her with Stone Pathway. Both are from Magnolia's 'Butterfly Dreams' collection and are available at Magnolia-licious, along with the rest of the collection. These gorgeous dp's are from PinkPaislee's 'Butterfly Garden' paper pad and they're just stunning! I love the entire pad. Tilda is backed with a matte that I cut using my Spellbinder's 'Lacey Square' die. The vertical strip was punched with a MS border punch and layered with some lace from my stash. The leaves were also cut with a MS border punch. Both the ribbon and pearl are from my stash. All of the flowers are from WOC.

I colored the entire scene with Copic markers. I honestly haven't worked with my DI's much lately because I've been enjoying my Copics. Sometimes you just need a change for a bit. But, I'm sure I'll miss them and will start using them again soon :-)

Here are the details of the colors that I used:

Skin: E0000, 000, 00, 01, 11, 13, R20
Hair: E41, 42, 43, 44, 47
Flowers: YR00, 04, R02, 08
Dress: E40, 81, YG91, 95, W00, 1, 3
Boots: E40, 41, 43, 44, W3
Rocks/Grass: E40, W1, 3, 5, 7, YG91, 95, E87
Sky: B0000, BG70

Well, that's it for today. Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you'll leave a little comment to let me know that you were here :-)

Ciao,

Angie

Shabby, yet Chic!

Hi Everyone!!! I've got a card to show today that is very out of the ordinary for me. I have some of the beautiful, soft, and sweet Melissa Frances papers and I wanted to do something equally soft with them. I had also just received some stamps that I had ordered from Diana and couldn't wait to use them. I've been pretty sick lately, with a really bad sinus infection and now a virus on top of that. I had a day when I felt good and wanted to make something really quickly. This is what I came up with. I hope you like it :-)

Tilda Hugging Bunny

This adorable image is 'Tilda Hugging Bunny'. I don't see her in stock over at Magnolia-licious right now, but I bet she'll be back soon. As I mentioned, the dp's are from Melissa Frances' '5th Avenue' collection. I colored the bunny, Tilda's hair and skin with Copic markers, but her clothes and background were painted very lightly using watercolor with Ranger DI's. Because the colors are so soft, the painting didn't take long at all. I think this entire card only took about 1.5 hours! This style is soooooooo not me, but I absolutely LOVE how it turned out and I really enjoyed trying something new. I may not be able to give this one up!

All of the flowers and lace are from WOC. I cut the sweet little butterflies with a MS punch/stamp combo set. The pearl sprays are from the wedding section at Michael's. I used my Zutter distressing tool on all of the edges and then inked them with Ranger walnut stain. The metal corners are from WOC as well. They, along with nearly every piece of paper and the flowers, were brushed with a bit of Ranger crackle paint in 'Picket Fence'. The pearls at the top are from my stash.

Here's a view of the card closed and flat so you can see the tattered edges and the dimension of the embellies.

Copics - E0000, 00, 01, 11, 40, 41, 42, 44, 50, R00, W1, 3

DI's - tumbled glass, weathered wood, pumice stone, shabby shutters, vintage photo, antique linen, tattered rose, walnut stain

That's it for today!  Thanks so much for stopping by :-)

Magnolia Mini World...

Hi Everyone! I've got a quick post today to show you a couple of cards that I did for advertisements for Magnolia Mini World. All of the stamps are available at Magnolia-licious, so head on over and get yours now! Diana has the single largest selection of Mini's available :-)
I'm sorry to say that I don't have the coloring details for these cards. Here is what I can tell you...

All stamps are by Magnolia. Flowers are from WOC. I colored the images in both cards with a combo of Copic markers and watercolor with Ranger distress inks.
