Rah Rah Sis Boom Bah!!!

Hi Everyone!!! I hope all is well with each of you! Things here in Michigan are just fine. Still hoping for some consistency in the weather. My ideal summer day is sunny, 85-90 degrees, and a whole lot of friends around the pool. We haven't had too many days that meet that criteria yet :-(

But, a big spot of sunshine in my life last week was a surprise package from Magnolia that contained my stamp kit. Yay! I couldn't wait to find time to ink one up! Here she is :-)

Rah Rah Sis Boom Bah!!!
I have absolutely no idea what this little cutie is actually named. I call her 'Cheerleader Tilda'. I wonder if I'm right??? I'm sure she will be available at Magnolia-licious really, really soon! Anyway, I was digging through a stack of 12x12 papers that I love but never remember to use, and I found these dp's from Pebbles. They immediately reminded me of my wonderful friend, Mindy, so I tried to channel her when coloring Tilda in a pink/white/brown combo. Those of you that know Mindy know that this is a favorite color combo for her. Those of you that know me have probably never seen me use it! Hah! I actually love the color combo, but I always seem to work with darker, richer colors. Even here my pinks and browns are kinda dark! Oh well, I tried! The flowers and leaves are from WOC. The pink velvet ribbon and silk flower in the middle of it are from my stash. That gorgeous white lace in the background with the pink running through it is from the local craft store. The silver corner piece is also from WOC. I used a Magnolia dragonfly die to cut the little craft dragonfly that is perched by the rose on the left. Oh yeah, I almost forgot...the bottom border was achieved by using a MS punch.
I colored this gorgeous girl with Copic markers. I'm really hooked on them again! I haven't worked with my inks in quite a while! Anyway...the marker details are below:

E0000, 000, 00, 01, 11, 13, 41, 42, 43, 44, R20, 30, 81, 83, 85, N0, 1, 3, W00, 1, 3, 5

Well, that is absolutely it for me today! I hope you enjoyed your visit at least half as much as I enjoyed making this card. It was a true joy :-) Thank you so much for stopping by!

Ciao,

Angie

The Seeds of Life...

Happy Monday Everyone! Wow! Did that weekend go fast or what? Keeping in mind that my son is 7 years old, he asked me the other day why the weekend couldn't be 5 days and the work week be 2 days? LOL!!! I said "Yeah, someone really got that one wrong, didn't they?" Well, anyway, we had a pretty full weekend. We ended it yesterday with some great friends over to swim for the day. What fun we had! It didn't rain and I ate too much! Right now, any day that it doesn't rain is a perfect day :-)

The Official Magnolia Inspiration Challenge
(TOMIC)

Welcome to challenge #4! Our theme this week is 'shimmer and pearls'. It's a super easy and fun challenge to play along with, so I will be looking for your card!!! Don't forget to check out TOMIC site for all of the challenge details. You can get a peek at the other DT projects there for even more inspiration. They're sure to have some wonderful things for you to see!!!

The Seeds of Life

This little cutie is #324 Seeding Tilda and she's from Magnolia's new 'Sweet Rainbow' collection. She's currently available at Magnolia-licious in both original and mini size. I paired her with #405 Tulip Walkway from the 'Butterfly Dreams' collection.

The gorgeous dp's are from the BG 'Out of Print' paper pad which is available at Love To Stamp. I LOOOOOOVE this paper pad!!! The colors and patterns are very lively and there is so much going on so they create a tremendous amount of interest as a back drop for a colored/painted image. You'll be seeing them A LOT from me!

I used pearls from my stash to accentuate the frame around the image, as well as for a little added interest in the corner and on the satin ribbon (also from my stash). The lace and flowers are from WOC. I used my Bow Easy to create the perfect little satin bow. And the shimmer??? I heavily coated the entire card with Pearl Glimmer Mist, but it doesn't show on the photo :-( It really looks pretty IRL though!

I colored the images with Copic markers. Here are the details:

E000, 00, 01, 11, 13, 41, 42, 43, 44, R00, 20, 30, Y21, 23, G12, 24, YG17, 61, 91, B0000, 00, N0, W1

That's it for me today! I hope you enjoyed my project. Thank you so much for stopping by!!!

Ciao,

Angie

Happy Birthday

Hello Everyone and Happy Monday to you!!! Well, summer has finally made its way to Michigan. We had a few days in the 80's. The pool is ready...crystal clear and heated to 88 degrees. Can you say "Ahhhh"?

So, my son's last day of school is on Wednesday. I still can't believe it! How did the year go by so fast? He's 7 years old and it seems like only yesterday he was a wobbly toddler! Just a few more inches and he'll be as tall as my shoulder. Oy!

We had very busy weekend. On Saturday, we had a 50th birthday celebration for one of my really good friends. Her actual birthday is tomorrow. On Sunday, we celebrated my Dad's 69th birthday! Oy again! How is it that he gets older and I don't??? His actual birthday is tomorrow too.

Anyway, on to the reason we're here...

The Official Magnolia Inspiration Challenge
(aka "TOMIC")

Today is the grand opening of The Official Magnolia Inspiration Challenge (TOMIC) blog!!! Many of the Magnolia DT members are participating in this weekly challenge blog. It is sponsored by Magnolia and they are offering a secret prize for the winner. Each week, on Mondays, there will be a new challenge and we hope that you will all participate. All of the rules are listed in the left sidebar of TOMIC.

Our first challenge has a birthday theme. Here's my project...I hope you like it :-)

Happy Birthday

I decided to work with 2 Magnolia images: Tilda with Cake from the You Are So Special collection, and Kitchen. You can get them both at Magnolia-licious. I paired them with dp's from Lily Bee Design's 'This & That' collection, available now at Love To Stamp. Cs is from Bazzill.

All flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts. The ribbon is from my stash and I just knotted it this time instead of a bow. I like it for a change. The sentiment is new from Whimsy Stamps 'Party Mini Letter Seals' and is available at Love To Stamp.

I colored the images with Copics. The details are below:

E000, 00, 01, 11, 13, 41, 42, 43, 44, 50, Y18, 21, 38, W00, 1, 3, 5, 7, N0, 1, 3, YR30, R20, 30, 37, 39, B21, 23

That's it for today! I hope you'll play along with the TOMIC birthday challenge. I can't wait to see what you make! I also hope that you'll leave me a little comment so that I know you stopped by.

Thanks so much!

Ciao,

Angie
